Notre Dame defeated Duke 13-8 to secure its first national title in school history. The Fighting Irish were led by Liam Entenmann, who made a season-high 18 saves, and Brian Tevlin, who scored the go-ahead goal with 27 seconds left in the third quarter.

Notre Dame jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first three goals of the game. Duke would eventually tie the game at 3-3, but Notre Dame would take a 6-4 lead into halftime.

Duke would tie the game again early in the third quarter, but Notre Dame would score the next three goals to take a 9-6 lead. Duke would cut the lead to one goal with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, but Notre Dame would score the final four goals of the game to secure the victory.

The victory is Notre Dame's first national championship in any sport since 2018, when the football team won the College Football Playoff. It is also the first national championship for Notre Dame's men's lacrosse program.
